Playing With Monsters & Big Alliance Records artist Ricky Vaughn hook up with Moombahton.net (The EDM Network) to talk about how was his creative process for his brand new free Moombahton EP, entitled You’re Welcome N.I.*.*.A (Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished).
Make sure you you follow this versatile and hardworking producer !
My moombahton sound, I would describe it as the “original moombahton sound on steroids.” In my previous project, I created more than a handful of songs that are staples in moombahton. I feel like guys like Munchi, Nada, Heartbreak, and Sabo created the blueprint, then I came in and evolved it. So everything I put out now, I use those elements and try to create the evolution of that.
I literally have been thinking about this project since July. I started with “Mal De Ojo,” which I made probably a day or two after “Show You How To Do This Son” (which is still #1 on Moombahton.net) and from there that song pretty much sparked the idea of an EP. I work on multiple projects simultaneously, so in the midst of creating “Mal De Ojo,” I was finishing up the Wickedest Sound EP and starting my 100-105bpm EP called “The Chronicles of Black Jesus.” So I gave myself a deadline, a title, and a goal of 8 tracks. From there, I spent every day from Oct 25th till November 22nd finishing the tracks. Ever since the Sazon Booya split, the pressure has been on with every track I release because of the non-believers and doubters. I used that to think, “How can I make a project that covers every style or type of moombahton track but still brings the evolution of that so that I can inspire producers to make better music?” With that mindstate, I locked myself in the studio, called a few friends (Maxx & EJ, Paul Lee, Yonta & The R.O.A.R.) and created “You’re Welcome N.I.G.G.A.”
